Malaysia's very own streetwear brand, Pestle & Mortar unveiled its first ever SouthEast Asian collaboration, linking up with Ageless Galaxy from Indonesia. Hoping to bring closer the borders between the two lands through the medium of streetwear, the special collection was unveiled at an event held at Fauxspace in Bangsar.
It was definitely the kind of event that all 20-something are dying to go and be seen at. Complimentary Tiger Beer, DJ spinning Soundcloud mumble-rap tunes and a flock of cool kids in their best streetwear looks (mostly Pestle & Mortar of course). I was in my old DKNY graffiti hoodie and Timbs so I didn't really feel out of place despite being among the older few in the room. My plus one Puteri was just too occupied testing out her new iPhone XS camera.
So the collection features 11 styles. Each and every piece designed with elements of Malaysia and Indonesia entwined together in harmony. From the integration of the Garuda and Harimau on the Autronesian Griffin Tee to the distinct design sensibilities on the Tour Tee, this collaboration is truly special and definitely worth that little space left that you have inside your closet.
