Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand-Prix is one local fashion
event that I always look forward to. It has always been fun and I always make
an effort to dress up and turn up every single year since 2011.
I was expecting the same amount of fashion, fun and
wackiness this year but I was slightly disappointed by the use of smaller venue
and a few other things that didn’t really live up to STYLO’s very own standard.
Poppy-Garden is quite an interesting choice of venue but it is
a little bit too small for large scale fashion event like STYLO. It was quite
difficult when the attendees have to be divided into two separate levels. I was
running up and down the stairs to meet my friends and make sure I said HI to
everyone.
Well the themes are fun, tho! From bikers and superheroes to
Suzy Wong and slumber party, it was so great to see people putting on a lot
effort to dress according to the theme of the night. I remember seeing all the
Datins and Datuks wearing headbands and carrying their little teddy bears at
the opening night which was both cute and slightly creepy at the same time. Well
I showed up as myself because that’s what I always do. My options are limited
these days.
Gawd I need to lose weight!
I have written about STYLO both on EMMAGEM and EMM-A-MAN so
I don’t think I have to go on and on about it again. I just hope that next year
will be a better year for STYLO. Like
when they decided to have it at the temple a couple of years back? That was
really awesome!
