Lara Stone Blackface in French Vogue

People are angry over the spread in October issue of French Vogue featuring Lara Stone in blackface. For those of you not in the know, blackface is the makeup (usually burnt cork) used by a performer in order to imitate the image of black people particularly African-American.

The 14-page fashion spread was shot by Steven Klein and styled by editor Carine Rotifeld. But this is not the first time French Vogue come out with controversial, jaw-dropping images. Supermodel Lilly Donaldson was portrayed as a pregnant smoker in April issue of the fashion Bible as a mockery to motherhood.

So... Are we amused?
