Let There Be Love

Sex and The City was aired 15 years ago on Monday. I can't hardly believe it. I was just 15 when Carrie first made her way into our lives and hearts of course. My love affair with the series is undeniably strong that even until now I still find myself watching the series in bed, in the dark with cigarette in one hand.

And for the first time in my life, I found myself in this new territory. I call it true love. I've been in several relationships in the past. One even involved a live-in but that unfortunately lasted for just less than a year. It wasn't the same. The feeling that I felt back then somehow was pushed and so unreal.

So I'm on it again. This time it feels different and most importantly it feels so right. This one right here is the kinda relationship that involves an extra toothbrush for sleepovers, home-cooked meal on Sunday and hourly check on Whatsapp when I was out partying on Friday night.

It was such a beautiful coincidence that SATC turned 15 the same week things were finally made official between us. Well it's cheesy but I guess when you are in love, you can get away with cautionary amount of cheesiness. So here are some of my favorite quotes from Sex and The City from the actual words uttered by the fictional but forever fabulous Carrie Bradshaw.

Happy Birthday xxx

"Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe, you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be." — Carrie

"Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want, and just see what happens." — Carrie

"But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." — Carrie

"Eventually all the pieces fall into place. . . until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason." — Carrie
